Materials Only option is still available.

Following the intensive 2-day review course in Geriatric Psychiatry on Sept 23 - 24, 2012 in Banff, Alberta, the Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry (CAGP) will be holding an Online Study Group that will commence October 2012 through August 2013.

The course will be co-chaired by Dr. Mark Rapoport, a board member of the CAGP, and Dr. Dallas Seitz, geriatric psychiatrist at Queen's University. Faculty members include Drs. Keri-Leigh Cassidy, Peter Chan, Carole Cohen, Laura Gage, Adrian Grek, Cindy Grief, Daphna Grossman, George Heckman, Nathan Herrmann, Benoit Mulsant, Jeff Myers, Tarek Rajji, Ken Shulman, David Streiner, Andrew Wiens, Lesley Wiesenfeld, as well as the two co-chairs.

The review course is being developed with the technical and educational guidance of Dr. Marcus Law, Director of Technology Enabled Learning at the Centre for Faculty Development of the University of Toronto.

This online study group will consolidate learning and help with preparations for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) examination in geriatric psychiatry. It is open to psychiatrists, residents in psychiatry and medical students, and features interactive online learning in small, "asynchronous" study groups (sign on at your convenience). Twenty-two 2-week modules with expert faculty will cover a wide array of topics in geriatric psychiatry at an advanced level.

The online format will include recommendations of key up-to-date review papers, critical appraisal of major empirical studies, practice exam questions, reflective discussion of controversies, opportunity to ask faculty questions you’ve always wanted to know (but were afraid to ask), and to discuss clinical problems with peers and faculty.
