Welcome to the 7th Canadian Conference on Dementia which will be held in the beautiful city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Oct. 3-5, 2013. The 7th CCD organizing committee has put together an exciting program that has attracted a world renowned faculty of national and international speakers, featuring plenary and parallel sessions, a stimulating debate, interactive workshops as well as oral and poster research presentations.

In addition to an exceptional learning experience, the 7th CCD provides many opportunities for networking. Join us for the opening reception, meals, and an evening of fun and entertainment at the 7th CCD Gala.

Be sure not to miss the 7th CCD’s opening session on the evening of Thursday, October 3rd. Dr. Nina Kraus, Northwestern University, will address the impact of music on the aging brain. Dr. Peter Whitehouse, Case Western Reserve University, will discuss the arts as a therapeutic modality. The evening will close with a specially edited version for the 7th CCD of the documentary titled "Mind Alive" produced by Michael Rosatto-Bennett. This outstanding documentary explores the impact of individualized music playlists on nursing home residents. Other highlights include a symposium entitled "A Person-Centered Approach to Dementia Care" and a debate on “Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease is Best Practice" with Dr. Peter Whitehouse and Dr. Randy Bateman.

Be part of the action, by submitting an abstract to the 7th CCD scientific committee and share your research with your colleagues. Abstracts will be considered for both oral and poster presentations. A $500.00 prize will be awarded to the author of the best abstract! This year, we will be offering extended poster sessions to facilitate knowledge exchange between researchers and clinicians. More information about abstract submission is available on the website: www.canadianconferenceondementia.com
